Reduce Image Size

I'm just optimizing... ;)

The articles with images evoke more emotions so you remember them longer, and they are also very helpful if they are part of a tutorial.

Aside from the visual appeal and usefulness, images also play a role in the search engine optimization of a website. When you optimize images properly, it will helps in the overall SERP’s of your website and increase its functionality.

3 important elements of optimizing images

  1. Make sure that the image you upload to your blog post has your chosen keyword in the name of the image.
    internetmarketing.jpg is an example
We use Market Samurai for the keyword research. It is the best keyword software on the market.
  2. Make sure that the image you upload to the server is small enough so that it does not influence your website’s loading time. Reduce the image size before uploading. For storing larger files, a great idea is to use Amazon S3.
  3. Pay attention to the alt text of your image. It should also include your keyword. This is the only element of your image description that is visible to the robots crawling and indexing your websites.

  • what is the image size that you suggest? It probably depends of the number of pages a particular blog has?

    thank you:)

    • Hi Martyna,

The smaller the better, less than 50 kb is very good. Of course we are not talking about photo blogs here, where images are the most important part of the website. In such case Amazon S3 service is a must.

  • I’ve recently started a blog, the information you provide on this site has helped me tremendously. Thank you for all of your time & work.
